Everything people ask before they call
Are you available 24 hours a day?
Yes. A dispatcher answers (888) 633-7804 at any hour, any day, including holidays. Emergency electrical faults are the reason the after-hours line exists.
How much does an electrician cost in Alaska?
We price flat by the job and you get the number before work starts. Scope, access, the condition of the existing wiring, materials and travel are what move it. Call with a description and you will get a realistic range on the phone.
Do you charge more for nights and weekends?
The job is priced as a job. We are not running an hourly meter that spins faster after six o'clock.
My breaker keeps tripping. Is that an emergency?
It is at least a warning. A breaker that trips repeatedly is detecting an overload, a short or a ground fault. Stop resetting it, leave that circuit off, and call us.
There is a burning smell near an outlet. What do I do?
Turn off that circuit at the panel if you can do so safely, unplug what is on it, ventilate the area and call (888) 633-7804 immediately. Do not open the device.
How long does a panel upgrade take?
Most straight changeouts are a working day, including the utility disconnect and reconnect. We plan the outage window with you first, especially if you are on a well or have heat tape running.
Can you install an EV charger if my panel is full?
Sometimes with a load calculation and some rearranging, sometimes it needs a service upgrade. We check before you buy so there are no surprises.
Do you work in communities off the road system?
Yes. We book travel and freight, stage materials ahead so a job is not paused waiting on a part, and give you a firm date rather than a vague promise.
Do you do commercial work outside business hours?
That is how most of it runs. Evenings, early mornings and closed days so you do not lose trading time.
Will you give a second opinion on another quote?
Happily. A good share of our work started as a second opinion, and some of those ended with us telling the customer they did not need the work at all.
Do you handle knob and tube or aluminium wiring?
Yes - replacement, or approved repair at every termination where that is the right call. We will tell you which your house actually needs.
What areas of Alaska do you cover?
All 229 communities listed on our locations page, across Southcentral, the Interior, Southeast, Southwest and the Arctic and Northwest.
